- CZAS Marynarska – 39 Marynarska St. (MCM “Bałuty”)
- CZAS Próchnika – 11 Próchnika St. (MCM “Śródmieście”)

Two support phone numbers
Loneliness doesn’t have to be a silent companion. Sometimes, simply talking to another person is enough to feel relief and regain hope. There are two excellent telephone support initiatives in Łódź. For people who are grieving the loss of a loved one, loneliness can be particularly painful—it’s important to remember that support is available during this time.
Łódź's Kindness Hotline
This is an initiative of the City of Łódź and the “SUBVENIO” Foundation, where senior volunteers are on duty. It offers a conversation with a peer who fully understands the problems and challenges of middle age. You can count on emotional support, as well as help in obtaining specific information.
- Who is it for? Mainly for seniors looking to chat with someone their own age.
- Phone numbers: 42 638 50 32, 739 903 452, 739 903 453
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
A phone call to chat
A nationwide, toll-free hotline for adults who feel lonely. Volunteers are professionally trained to listen with empathy and offer support, and every conversation is completely anonymous.
- Who is it for? For any adult who needs someone to talk to.
- Toll-free number: 800 012 005
- Hours: Daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Telecare – Safety Every Day
This is a municipal program for people aged 60 and older who, due to their health or age, need additional support in their daily lives. Each participant receives a free safety wristband that monitors basic vital signs (heart rate, oxygen saturation, temperature) and has an SOS button.
Pressing the button connects you to the Telecare Center, which operates 24/7 and notifies loved ones or emergency services if necessary. The wristband also has a built-in GPS tracker.
- How can you apply? Recruitment is currently on hold due to the large number of applicants, but it’s worth checking the Łódź City Hall website for updates.
- Contact regarding the program: 42 638 47 30, email: seniorzy@uml.lodz.pl
Microgrants for Seniors – Bring Your Idea to Life
Do you have an idea for a workshop or sports activity, or perhaps you’d like to organize a neighborhood assistance program in your area? The microgrant program for seniors allows you to receive up to 5,000 PLN to carry out your own projects.
Not only nongovernmental organizations but also informal groups—such as a group of neighbors or friends who want to do something good for other seniors—can apply for funding.
- What can be organized? Almost anything—from sports activities to educational and artistic workshops, to team-building and charitable initiatives.
- How to apply? The application period for the 2025 edition has already ended, but the next edition will begin in the second half of 2026. For more information, visit the competition organizer’s website—the OPUS Center (tel. 509 899 449).
Summary
Being a senior doesn’t have to mean giving up an active lifestyle. On the contrary—it’s the perfect time to discover new passions, take care of yourself, and build meaningful relationships. Places like the Healthy and Active Senior Centers, as well as initiatives such as support hotlines, telecare, and microgrants, prove that no one in Łódź has to be alone. All it takes is one phone call to open yourself up to new possibilities. We encourage you to take advantage of these forms of support—it’s a step toward greater well-being and a more fulfilling life.
