Burglars and thieves

A very common theme in dreams is a situation in which the dreamer is being chased by one or more thugs, or someone is trying to break into their house or apartment. Usually, after such a dream, we wake up drenched in sweat and try to forget about it as quickly as possible.

If you were to take a dream like this to a Jungian analyst, he would say that these menacing figures symbolize something that is trying to enter our consciousness, and because it is something foreign to us, we have given it this guise. This mysterious “something” is usually a very valuable aspect of our personality that we should integrate as soon as possible.
So next time, instead of hiding or running away from burglars, it’s worth overcoming your fear, pausing, and… asking what message they’re trying to convey to us.
